Numbers. Tinder's App Store listing has around 1.8 million ratings averaging 4.2 out of 5 (checked 11 October 2026), and it's costs nothing to install. Its subscriptions (Plus, Gold, Platinum) unlock extras such as unlimited likes and a view of who has liked you. If you live somewhere with a small scene, the bigger pool helps.
Tinder also has a Photo Verified badge: you record a short video selfie, and if it matches your profile photos you get the badge. Tinder says the badge doesn't guarantee someone's identity.
Where Raver Dating wins
Everyone you meet is into the scene. On Tinder there's no way to filter by music, so you're relying on people mentioning it in their profile. On Raver Dating it's the starting point – whether you're into techno, house, jungle or drum and bass, or you'd just rather meet someone at a festival than in a bar.
Verification goes a step further too: ID verification is free for everyone and shows as a badge, a moderator can confirm you on a short live video, and the team can sign off profiles manually.
