Raver Dating vs Tinder, Hinge and Bumble for Ravers

The big apps have the numbers. Raver Dating has the scene. Here's how they stack up if you'd rather date someone who loves the same music.

Tinder, Hinge and Bumble are the apps most people try first, and for good reason – there are a lot of people on them. The catch for ravers is that none of them tells you who's into the same music before you match. Here's how they compare with a dating site that starts from the scene.

Tinder

Tinder's App Store page (checked 11 October 2026) sums it up as “Meet New People & Date Singles”. It's free to download, with paid tiers – Tinder Plus, Gold and Platinum – that add things like unlimited likes, seeing who likes you and having your likes prioritised. It has around 1.8 million ratings on the App Store, averaging 4.2 out of 5.

Who it suits: people who want the biggest pool and are open to anything from casual to serious.

Hinge

Hinge's App Store description opens with “Hinge, designed to be deleted” – it's aimed at people looking for a relationship. It's free to download, with Roses, Boosts and paid subscriptions available. It averages 4.4 out of 5 from around 1.1 million ratings.

Who it suits: people who want something long-term and like a slower, prompt-based way of getting to know someone.

Bumble

Bumble's App Store page describes it as “the women-first dating app designed to create safer, more respectful connections”. It's free, with paid options including Bumble Boost, Premium and Premium+. It averages 4.3 out of 5 from around 1.8 million ratings.

Who it suits: women who want more control over who gets in touch, and anyone who likes that approach.

Raver Dating

Raver Dating was built for the rave crowd. Each day it suggests people based on your age range, how far you'll travel, the kind of relationship you want and the interests you share – and every member joined because the music matters to them. ID checks cost nothing, and only your town is ever shown. Use it in your phone's browser or pin it to your home screen.

Who it suits: people who want to date someone who already gets why you'd travel for a night out.

What you gain and what you give up

On the big apps you gain numbers: more profiles, more matches, more choice in more towns. What you give up is a shared starting point – you're matching on photos and a few lines, and finding out about the music later. On Raver Dating the pool is everyone who signed up for the scene, so the first conversation can start with last weekend rather than “so what are you into?”

Tips if you stick with the big apps

Put the music front and centre: name the nights you go to and the DJs you'd travel for in your profile, and use a photo from a gig or festival. It won't filter the pool for you, but it does make the right people stop scrolling.

Using more than one

Most people do. A big app gives you volume; Raver Dating gives you people who already share the thing you care about. See how all the main apps compare, or read Raver Dating vs Radiate.

Questions people ask

Which dating app is best for ravers?

It depends what you want. The big apps have the most people; Raver Dating is built for dating people into raves and electronic music, so everyone you meet already shares that.

Can you filter Tinder, Hinge or Bumble by music taste?

None of them has a built-in music filter. The best you can do is mention the music in your profile and look for it in other people's.

How much does Raver Dating cost?

Everything about memberships and prices is on the pricing page.

Do I have to choose just one?

No. Plenty of people use a big app and Raver Dating side by side.
