Going to a rave on your own

More people are doing it than ever. Here's why you should too – and why it's fine to go home alone.

In short

Going solo is great fun, and everyone should do it at least once. If you can't be your own best friend for a night, how are you meant to make new ones?

You won't be the only one

Solo festival-going went from 8% of people in 2019 to 29% in 2025, according to a Ticketmaster survey reported by Dazed. That's nearly one in three.

Don't go expecting to meet someone

Sometimes you'll end the night with a new group of mates. Sometimes you'll end it on your own – and that's okay. It's all about the music and the freedom. Anything else is a bonus.

Rather not go alone?
