Drum and Bass Dating

Meet people into drum and bass – liquid, neuro, jump up, dancefloor and more.

A DJ at the decks in front of a packed, red-lit room

Drum and bass has been part of UK club life since the early 1990s, and it's still one of the fastest-moving scenes going. If it's your music, Raver Dating is a dating site where you can meet people into it too.

DnB isn't one thing

Liquid, neurofunk, jump up, dancefloor, halftime – drum and bass covers a huge range, and someone who lives for one end of it might never go near the other. A profile that just says “DnB” leaves a lot unsaid. The nights, crews and MCs you follow tell people far more.

Where it started

Drum and bass emerged in the UK in the early 1990s, after jungle, which came first and remains its own genre – see junglist dating. (Source: Wikipedia.) More than thirty years on it has scenes all over the world, from small local nights to dedicated festivals.

Labels and moments that shaped it

Labels like Goldie's Metalheadz, Moving Shadow, LTJ Bukem's Good Looking Records and V Recordings built the sound, and Roni Size & Reprazent's New Forms won the Mercury Prize in 1997. Pirate stations such as Kool FM, broadcasting since 1991, kept it on air, and today BBC Radio 1 has its own Drum and Bass Show. Tempos have mostly settled between 170 and 180 BPM since the mid-1990s, and the scene now stretches across Europe, North America, Australia, Brazil, New Zealand and South Africa. How it works on Raver Dating

Build a profile with your photos and interests, and you'll get fresh match suggestions every day – weighted by age, distance, the kind of relationship you want and what you're into. There's no charge to verify your ID, which adds a badge to your profile, and people only ever see your town.

Getting your profile right

Starting a conversation

A good opener is something only another DnB head would ask. Which way do they lean – liquid, neuro, jump up? What was the first night that got them hooked? Who's the MC they'd travel for, or the tune they'd want dropped last thing at the end of a set? Questions like that get a real answer, and tell you quickly whether you'd enjoy the same nights out.

Staying safe

Get to know people on Raver Dating before you share other contact details. If someone asks you to switch to WhatsApp or another app straight away, you'll get a warning about it – that's a classic scam move. Blocking and reporting work at any time. See our safety page for more.
